FLINTSHIRE Council have been faced with a rather large message from an anarchist group, who are in the process of regenerating an abandoned cruise liner, with the aim of transforming it into Europe’s largest open ait art gallery. A 6 foot postcard was hand delivered to the Head of Regeneration at the Council, bearing some questions about their objections to this tourist attraction being created.
David Heggarty, Head of Regeneration at Flintshire County Council has had some pretty tough questions asked of him today about the possible regeneration of The Duke of Lancaster, beached at Llanerch-y-Mor since 1979, by a group currently looking to regenerate the site as a viable tourist attraction.
DuDug, whose proposals are to turn the ship and dock into the largest open air art gallery in the UK has learnt that one of the key fundamental issues raised by the council affecting the regeneration of the site, would appear not to be an issue at all in reality.
RANDOM, AKA The Flintshire Banksy has answered the call to arms and joined The DuDug Crew creating a striking image on the side of The Duke of Lancaster, entitled “Point of Ayr”
Earlier this year, DuDug offered RANDOM the chance to leave his mark on the beached cruise liner. Maurice Blunt, Project Director said “DuDug has followed the work of RANDOM for some time now and we love the way he captures the history of this area in his images and the air of mystery which surrounds his work”
